Food Safety Guarantee
The Sanson Company is dedicated to maintaining safe, high-quality products for our customers. In order to ensure the safest products possible, we require our suppliers to develop best management practices recommended in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Guide to Minimize Microbial Food Safety Hazards for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables appropriate for their operations. These recommendations are known as “Good Agricultural Practices” or “GAPs.”
We require the completion of this form, hereby guaranteeing the following
Any/all products supplied by your company have been produced/handled as recommended by the FDA’s guide referenced above;
Control methods to monitor and verify your GAP compliance and any Corrective Actions have been implemented;
The Sanson Company access to your GAP and/or GMP and/or Organic audits for all product supplied by your company;
Appropriate controls are in place and ensure that the maximum residue levels (MRLs) for supplied product are in compliance with the published MRLs;
Compliance with food safety defense procedures per the FDA “Guidance for Industry, Food Producers, Processors, and Transporters: Food Security Preventative Measures Guidance”;
Written notification of any changes in supplier's operations that could expose product to an allergen contamination risk;
Ability to provide written documentation upon request, to support items listed above, including product “sourced” from any/all suppliers;
Compliance with FSMA requirements of 21 CFR Subpart O – Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Feed. Brokers are required to provide evidence of compliance for their carriers, when requested;
Organic suppliers shall provide a current audit annually, that has been completed by a nationally recognized auditing agency that complies with The National Organic Program (NOP) Standards.
In addition to completion of the form below, you are required to provide Sanson with satisfactory evidence of insurance. Please notify your insurance agent/company to send us a certificate of insurance to foodsafety@sansonco.com or fax to 216-431-5619. The certificate should be issued to: The Sanson Company, 3716 Croton Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115-3406.
We do not need copies of your GAP and/or GMP audits at this time.
