We are proud to support our local growers and farmers by providing a wide variety of their organic and conventional produce to our customers.

In doing so, we help our customers meet growing consumer interest in locally sourced food; many people prefer the increased freshness and better taste provided by produce that ripens nearby and naturally, without the burden of extra transit and warehousing.  Sourcing our produce locally contributes to the strength of our local economy.  It also means reduced transportation costs and a smaller carbon footprint – important as we continually strive to be more sustainable and improve our environmental impacts.    

We take great care to ensure the local produce we buy meets our food safety standards.  Each local grower is required to be certified to Good Agricultural Practices. Growers are also subject to additional audits to verify proper handling procedures.
